Ultrasound During Pregnancy

Ultrasounds in pregnancy are used to view the fetus inside the womb. It is also used to monitor the growth of the fetus and check for abnormalities.

You should have at least 1 ultrasound during pregnancy. This is usually done between 18-22 weeks. It is also encouraged that you do an ultrasound in the first trimester to establish the due date and to ensure that the pregnancy is located in a safe position.

There may be other instances where ultrasounds are either suggested or recommended by your provider but these will be communicated with you at your visits.
