No matter how your delivery goes, your body will need time to heal.
Common symptoms postpartum include:
Vaginal bleeding that can last as long as 6 weeks postpartum
Cramping that can be worse with breastfeeding
Pain in your back, neck, or joints. Labor is like a workout! So you will have some post partum soreness and pain. Get plenty of rest, and hydration during this time.
Pain in your perineum (the area between your vagina and anus)
Pain around your incision (if you had a cesarean birth)
It is also very common to have lots of mood changes and anxiety. Please communicate with your provider if you are experiencing any depression or sadness.
