Female Pelvic Pain

Female pelvic pain is pain in the region of the female reproductive organs. It can also come from other non-reproductive internal organs such as the bones and muscles of the pelvis, and the large and small intestine. Pelvic pain can very well be an indication that there might be a problem with one of the reproductive organs.

Some causes of pelvic pain include:

  • Vaginal/Pelvic infection
  • Ovarian cysts
  • Fibroids
  • Pelvic congestion syndrome
  • Endometriosis
  • Interstitial cystitis
  • Irritable bowel syndrome

Sometimes depression, stress, or a history of physical abuse can increase your risk of pelvic pain symptoms as well
